The Canada Post strike and lock out have come to an end, and we wanted to let our customers know that new orders are all now
being processed normally. If you placed an order during the lock out, it is now en route! Thanks for your patience!
- EDIT - June 18th, 2011 -
Earlier we stated that during the current Canadian Postal Workers strike, that we would ship all incoming orders using alternative couriers. It seems we've jumped the gun in making that offer, and have since learned that international courier services are prohibitively expensive. So we have made the tough decision to wait until the strike ends to ship all incoming orders. What this means is that we will still be accepting orders for "The Anthology Project", but that there will be a delay for your order to arrive for as long as the strike lasts. We hope that this will only be a matter of a couple weeks, if not days. We apologize for this inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding. We hope that when your books finally arrive, you'll feel the wait was worth it.
For more information on the strike visit: http://www.cupw.ca
Canada Post is officially on strike, but do not fret! We will still be shipping out books with alternative couriers (at no additional costs to the current shipping rates). Any orders made between June 3rd and 10th may be delayed due to the strike.
Conventions and Kickstarters and Eisners, oh my!
We've got lots of exciting news to share.
First of all, Kickstarters. One last thanks to everyone who helped us fund volume two. After days and nights of sorting, organizing and signing, your books and rewards have been packaged up and mailed off. You can expect to have your copy arrive soon along with all the bells and whistles your pledge includes*. We're really looking forward to hearing what you guys think of the new book.

Secondly, we were recently honoured with an Eisner nomination! How exciting is that? The Anthology Project Volume 1 was nominated in the Best Anthology category. This was such a great surprise for us. We really put our hearts into making the highest quality books we're capable of, and it's so gratifying to know that people notice and appreciate all of the hard work by both the artists and the editors. The winners get announced at this year's SDCC, so keep your fingers crossed for us.
We've also been busy traveling around with our new book over the past few weeks. The Anthology Project V2's official debut was at MoCCA this year, and New York couldn't have treated us better. We managed to sell out of both V1 & V2 before the weekend was over. It was also great to see familiar faces from last year as well as getting to meet a bunch of new folks who had never seen our book before. You can definitely count on us to return to MoCCA when we've got some new work ready to share. We also attended Stumptown for the first time, which is a convention we've been wanting to check out since the Anthology Project was just a concept. We can't say enough about how great both the convention and Portland were. Nice people, great food, cartoonists and delicious coffee in every cafe... what more could we ask for?
We've also got another important festival right around the corner. On May 7th & 8th we'll be exhibiting at Toronto Comic Arts Festival. This will probably be the largest gathering of Anthology Project V2 artists in one room for quite a long time, so if you want to get your book signed by as many of us as possible, this is the place to do so. TCAF has been a really great experience for us in the past and we've come to think of it as a home-team sort of festival. It's going to be an amazing time, so if there's one place you want to make sure to catch us at this year, TCAF is it.
Finally, keep an eye out on our site for upcoming convention and project news. We'll be attending more conventions with V2 throughout the year and we'll update about the particulars of where and when as they approach. Our lives have been pretty hectic lately, but after meeting so many fans over the past month and invariably having the most common question be "What's next?" we're really enthusiastic about getting a new project off the ground. When we're ready to let our next cat out of the bag, she will be released right here.
Thanks for all the support.
*Rewards should take about 1-3 weeks to arrive in Canada, 2-4 weeks in the US, and 1-3 months for international destinations

Process Work on Tumblr
The second volume of The Anthology Project is soon on it's way and we want to make sure you guys get a good look at it before we've got copies to ship. We've recently started up a tumblr which we'll be using to share our process work. It's located at theanthologyproject.tumblr.com. We'll be adding new process pieces on a pretty regular basis over the coming months, so make sure to keep an eye on it. We've got some other ideas for work to share on there as well, so it should be a pretty good look behind the Anthology Project scenes. If you guys dig what we're posting, make sure to like/share/tweet it around. If there's anything in particular you'd like to know about or see on there, drop us an email!
Gone for the Holidays
We're currently away and won't be able to ship any books that have been recently ordered (December 18th, 2010 onwards) until January 10th, 2011!

Thanks so much to everyone who came by to support The Anthology Project this past weekend at Fan Expo in Toronto. Whether you bought a book, a print, or just came by to say hello and chat with us for a bit, you guys made our weekend. It was really great to meet so many people enthusiastic about art and storytelling. The line-ups you guys put up with to get inside the convention is a testament to your dedication. It's opportunities like these that make The Anthology Project worthwhile for all of us. So, thanks again. We'll be back next year with an even bigger presence, and we're all looking forward to seeing familiar faces again!
Folks have been asking about the potential of a second volume of The Anthology Project. There have been occasional mentions of our desire to do a second book, but you can take this as official confirmation. We're definitely doing a second volume. Without giving too much away, we're trying to make sure we keep what people loved about the first book, while at the same time approaching the process in a way that will feel fresh for readers. Some artists from the first volume will be returning, and there'll be some fresh faces that we're really enthusiastic about welcoming to the team. Keep an eye out on our blog and our twitter for further details regarding the book and it's contributors. We've got some really cool plans for previewing the content in the time leading up to our release that you won't want to miss.
This month, "The Anthology Project" is getting its first wide release since making its debut on the convention circuit this season. Retailers still have time to order this acclaimed volume which was featured as a staff pick in July's Previews catalog. Don't miss your chance to stock this gem! Check order number JUL100741 in this July's Previews!
Calgary Comic Expo, Free Comic Book Day, & TCAF
Last weekend was our last stop in our all-over-the-map tour with "The Anthology Project" for the summer. What a whirlwind! We have seen such an outpouring of enthusiasm surrounding our first volume, and for that we have to say thank you, thank you, thank you! To experience such a warm reception at every city we have been to means so much to us, and so we have to extend our sincerest thanks to new friends and old!
The weekends after C2E2 have been spent in the mother land with our first stop in Calgary, which is the home town of several Anthology Project artists. The Calgary Comic Expo has grown considerably since last year, and they've opened up the space to accommodate more booths. We love this convention, not just because it's so close to home for us, but because the atmosphere of this particular convention just buzzes. As a personal anecdote I had a good long chat with a young gentleman of maybe 8 or 9 who had just read through the entire series of "Bone" volumes. I wasn't too much older than him when I discovered "Bone" and it was really cool to see that this story is inspiring the next generation of cartoonists too.
The following weekend was a bit quieter, with Happy Harbor Comics' Free Comic Book Day, and the Royal Bison Craft Fair. Meeting local comic artists and hanging out drawing for charity was a great way to unwind after all of our travels, but it was just a short break before we flew to Toronto for TCAF. What a remarkable festival that was! We had never been to TCAF before, but it lived up to all of our lofty expectations as the Holy Grail for comic creators. Plus Toronto is the home to many of The Anthology Project artists, so just like Calgary, there was a family reunion vibe to this show.
If you missed us at TCAF, not to worry, we'll be back in Toronto for Fan Expo which runs from August 27-29. We've also added one more tour date to the calendar sort of last minute, in Vancouver. If you're in the area, mark down May 30th on your calendar and come to Heritage Hall for the Vancouver Comic Convention. And if we missed your town, don't panic. The book is still available at our online store, or by visiting any of these fine comic retailers. Now I guess we'd better get busy making book two! Stay tuned for that!
